This is the heaviest face fabric in the range and not the heaviest comforter, which is the whole trick of it. A 280 GSM embossed flannel fleece on top, 200 GSM of down-alternative microfibre inside and a 90 GSM brushed backing underneath: dense where you touch it, light where you carry it. A bed made up with it looks like a far thicker set than the one you actually pick up off the floor.
What it is for
Three textures are pressed into the face rather than printed on it — a bubble relief, a basket weave and a dot stripe — and the colour list pairs each with black, beige, olive green or dark grey, so there are more combinations than colours. Sizes are Twin and Twin XL together at 68x88 inches, Queen at 90x90 and King at 104x90, and the King ships with pillowcases of 20x36 rather than the usual 20x26. Everything washes on a gentle cycle and dries on low. The reverse is brushed smooth, which is the side to sleep against if embossed fleece feels like too much against bare skin.
Best for: fall and winter, and for air-conditioned rooms in any season. Not the set for a warm bedroom — three layers of fleece and fill will be too much by April.

Only the relief pressed into the fleece. Bubble is a rounded dot pattern that catches light, basket weave is a flatter grid. Warmth, weight and care are identical across the three.
Is Twin XL really the same item as Twin?
Yes — one 68x88 inch comforter covers both, which works because the extra length of a Twin XL mattress is taken up by drape rather than by a longer cover.
Does the pile flatten in the wash?
