What the score is measuring
Thirty-three hundred ratings at 4.7 is the strongest combination of sample and average in the whole catalogue — the only product here that is both widely rated and rated very highly. Measure from the floor to the top of the mattress, not to the top of the bed frame. The 13-inch set suits furniture up to about 16 inches; above that, work up through 17.7, 21.3 and 22 inches. Too short is worse than too tall — a dog will still jump the last part.
How hard is the assembly?
It arrives flat and there is a step-by-step video from the manufacturer. The pieces zip together and a bottom pad can be added underneath for extra rigidity. Expect it to take one person a quarter of an hour.
Will my dog actually use them?
Not immediately. Put a treat on the first tread, then the second, and let the dog work out that the steps lead somewhere it wants to be. Most animals have it in three or four sessions; forcing it sets the process back.
